Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hi folks. It's been awhile; but I've been shooting a lot. I went out last weekend and tried a few things, one of which included this insane idea to take a reflection shot and rotate it 180 degrees. Let me know what you think. I'm most concerned about the before & after with my niece and her creepy doll. It was a shot that I wasn't ready to take, but the opportunity was only there for mere seconds. It was in AWFUL light, completely candid, and I was in full manual (except WB - as I'm desperately trying to learn from trial and error). The before and after is more for my attempt at fixing a dark and noisy photo. I think it feels too soft, but it beats what it was. Any advice is welcome. Thanks, and enjoy.

Matt

In #1 shot every thing is of same color this is making the picture dull. However, composition is good.

#2 seems to have lost the focus and is soft. I think a bit faster shutter speed can help in such situations.

Rest are good shots. Nice editing in girl pic however, i think you focused on the toy rather than her.

#1, interesting building. Found log to be distracting.
#3, confused
#4, I actually like the before shot. The noise makes it a little creepier.

#1 Cropped too tight, not a fan of the color selection either
#2 Subject doesnt stand out much and it seems out of focus
#3 I dont know here, too much going on and its hard to even tell that it is a reflection. I found myself looking all over the place trying to figure out what was going on
#4 Prefer the before over the after

#4 - Before
The white balance error can be mitigated post process, but the under exposure makes all the image noise very visible when exposure is added for correction;

I really like #2. Very smooth, very comfortable, very soft. Great shot and processing. I kind of want to see just a bit more of the scene on the bottom of the frame, but it's still very nice.

Hi everyone, thanks for the feedback. I will see if I can do some color readjustments on #1 before going B&W, and I'll loosen the crop a touch.

#2 is my favorite, compositionally. I made an effort to bring out the darker tones in post; thanks for the positive feedback there.

#3 is a fun concept, but it's really limiting. I'll just need to keep my eyes open for better opportunities to capture how I "see" it.

#4 - really, this is a "rescue". I appreciate the help, KmH et. al... I'll hop into Lightroom and attempt a few more edits per the comments in the thread when I get back from my trip this weekend!

Peace and thanks again,

MD
