Can others edit my Photos

Ok folks, I went home to the country yesterday and managed to get in some much needed camera time. Here are a few for c&c. Tear them apart.

1.

4. No c&c needed for the following, I know that it stinks but I thought that it was a really cute pic.

Come on guys, I can't improve without someone ripping my pics to shreds.

#1 is too soft, and a bad crop, i would've put at least the whole head in there

#2 is the best of the bunch, just because the subject is clear, and crisp, but i wouldn't have taken this shot. it just isn't a very good angle/crop, might i recommend a shot of the whole horse, perhaps in a field, or something

#3 is also quite blurry, try a higher shutter speed, and some thing to help light it. it also would've been better if the subject were better separated from the background, however the water drop does at least draw my eye to it

#4 i can barely even see the dog. i suggest a circular polarizer, and a different angle, because that beam is the only thing drawing my attention at this point

#1 actually wasn't a crop, it was the look I was going for. #2 I thought was a interesting way for the horse to be standing. #3 the primary focus was the drop of water. Does it portray that in the picture? #4 I knew was a crappy pic but the dog looked so lonely it was kinda cute and I just wanted to share it. Thank you for your feedback.

The shots don't really grab the attention, which often leads to people not commenting.

Start by asking yourself what the images say to the viewer and what you're trying to portray. If you come up without a really interesting answer, then you're starting off on weak footing. The pictures need to get a reaction from people to have any real meaning and get any attention.

Hope this helps.

Ok. I will take that into consideration next time I upload pictures. Thank you for the suggestion.

1. I agree that this is a weird crop. It's almost difficult to tell what I'm looking at. If this is the look you want to go for I think getting the whole head in would be better. The blue in the corner is a distraction. This needs better lighting. It also seems to have a grayish cast, so maybe some more contrast and color. Everything also looks a bit soft.

2. I'd rather see the whole horse, perhaps with a shallow depth of field so that his head and forelegs are in focus to draw attention to the way he's standing.

3. If the focus is the droplet here, I'd fill the whole frame with the leaf and droplet.

"#1 actually wasn't a crop, it was the look I was going for" cropping start in the cameras view finder, so yes you did make a cropping decision.
"#4 I knew was a crappy pic but the dog" if you know the pic is crap then dont post it
and on 2 and 3 marmots makes valid points...
if you are really interested in CC then dont get defensive just say thank you and learn

1. Blurry.
2. Did you shoot this from a standing height?
3. Blurry. Can't you see that?

I agree that number 2 is the best of the bunch. It is not just an image, it has a feel to it. Number 4 would be good if it weren't for the bar which detracts from the reflection of the dog.
