#2 is a win. #1 - I REALLY feel like something of interest is missing here. I really really want to find the missing piece, but as much as I look, I can't find it. #3 looks like a very nice brochure photo. Well done

wow thanks man! To be honest for #1, it really was a snapshot, i know people say it all the time but, i really was driving in Miami when the sun was setting and i just stopped on the side of the road as soon as i seen an opening for a shot. Funny thing is the security lady came out and said "you can't shoot here, this is private property" so i had to leave after that 1. darn, i couldnt even plan it

They were all edited, but for #2 it was just standard level adjustments and clarity/contrast in Lightroom.

Just a 15-30 second exposure then? The hut thing looks perfectly exposed, which is a good thing! Almost seems TOO perfect for the scene though.

I like the second one. It is quite simple and the overall composition is good. The other two are just snapshots, as you indicated for the first one.

I really like 7606-edit, but the star trails catch my eye and then I can't focus on them as they appear blurred because they moved. 30 seconds @ F4, 400, it must have been really dark. Your exposure settings work for this one. I'd like to see it again with all the stars either painted out or perfectly round little sparklers. You really nailed the scene.

Although the first one is only a snapshot it has a lot of potential. I notice that on your Flickr page it's called "Skyline", but I think the fountain in the foreground is the real subject of the photo. For me it would be worth going back (even with security yelling at you) and taking the picture again, using an UWA to get the full fountain into the frame. You may also need to play around with exposure/lighting as in the current version the fountain's definitely underexposed.

As people have pointed out, the second one looks great. The only suggestion I might make is to up the ISO and up the shutter speed so you don't get the ever-so-slightly oblong stars. I'd also love to see you go back out to the same location and do multiple 20- or 30-second exposures for star trails. It seems like this would be a very cool location for that.

Yeah it was very very dark, you wouldnt be able to see someone that was more than 30ft from ya on that beach. I'd love to go take photos there again but it wont be anytime soon i have other states to visit first before returning to miami ha. i really appreciate your feedback.
