Excellent captures Brian! Its funny that you mentioned these were backyard shots. I traveled 45 minutes from home yesterday with my kayak to a reservoir and came home empty handed.

Wow! That must just suck. Better luck next time. I'm going to Myakka River State Park tomorrow (probably around the same distance away from me) just to scout it out with a friend so I won't be taking the kayak BUT they do have pontoon rides for $20 so maybe some pics tomorrow from the water if it's not too unbearably hot.

I love the hummingbird shot!

We have grosbeaks that come to our feeder but they are the rose-breasted version.
