A few more attempts at B&W

I took some of the advice from my last tries at B&W conversions and tried again. The more pictures I mess with from my white wave trip, the more I'm liking B&W. What do you think?

I really like them.

It gives the photo's an ominous feeling...they look good. Except the last one...I don't know if its my eyes or the photo but it looks like the center rock is out of focus/layed ?

You're getting the sky way to dense (dark) for my taste.

I actually like the conversion. The last is a bit too dark for my taste as well but it does give that ominous feeling that Virtuosis mentioned. I wish Scwettylens were able to say why he thought the conversion is bad or how to improve on it, however, rather than just saying it's bad.

My opinion is that the conversion is bad because of poor contrast control.

#1's foreground is muddy. #2 is the best, but again the sky is to dense. #3 just looks wrong, compositionally, contrast, and density of the sky.
