Over the last few days, I've been playing around with NL macroing. I have much to learn, but here are a few early attempts. All except #4 were taken with a Raynox DCR-250 attached to a couple of different lenses. C&C welcome!
1. A 7mm hoverfly feeding on a dandelion. This one was taken with my powershot and the Raynox.
2. Young Arion slug who also likes dandelions.
3. Attempt at a focus stack. I had trouble avoiding motion blur (shutter speed around 1/80), but there were a few usable frames.
4. Female Phidippus borealis jumping spider, another focus stack. It was very sunny today and I wanted to see how a jumper looked under direct sun. I thought the harsh highlights were actually rather interesting in this case. There are some flare problems here and there, though.
5. Another direct sun shot, this time of a male Evarcha proszynskii jumping spider. A friend of mine suggested this looked like an alien critter on a Mars-like world. There is some purple fringing going on in it, and I do wish the DoF were greater.
