What's new

A few of my beginner attempts...

[FONT=&quot]Hi i’m new to photography but I must say, these shots are nice. I like how you were able to capture the birds in your images. Even so from a layman’s standpoint, they could even say that these are taken by someone who’s in the field for years now. May i ask though, if its fine by you, what your camera is? And if you're really a beginner then i became more excited to see how my first shots will turn out.

Thank you, Tony. The camera is a Canon 40D, which I have had for about 3 months. I am truly a beginner. I purchased by first DSLR about 5 months ago and did not really start taking any pictures with it until about 2 months ago (December). Prior to that, the only "photography" I have ever done was snapshots with a point-and-shoot. I have had an interest in photography since I was a child, but never acted on it...at all...until recently. Heck, I have never even been "that guy" in the family that everybody asks to take pictures. Over the past few weeks, I have read some excellent books that were recommended to me and I have just been going out and shooting. What started out as a "lifelong interest" is quickly becoming a joy (with some frustration mixed in) and passion. I realize that sounds rather cheesy and romaticized, but I don't know how else to honestly describe it. I feel like I'm finallly doing something that I should have been doing my whole life. It feels very natural.
