I see these 500mm mirror lenses around for next to nothing.....I know you get what you pay for but is there any feedback....or experience with these.

If you know their limitations and inherent flaws, you can work around them. Like all lenses, there are good ones and bad ones.

The inexpensive 500 mm mirror lenses are usually manual focus only, have a single fixed aperture, and can only be mounted using a T-adaptor so there would also be no metering.
