Need some advice on which route to take!

Hello,

I am new to this forum and I am very interested and excited to get started on my photography journey. I recently purchased an r100 but I did not like it. I thought not having a rotating screen would not be an issue but for hiking and getting close to the ground for flowers and squirrels etc.. it was annoying. So I took it back. I have been doing research on what camera I should purchase next. I would be hiking a lot on the go. Long story short I was looking into 3 cameras the om5 mark ii, the z50ii and the canon eos r7. As of now I really can’t afford to spend money on a good zoom lens so I heard the kit lens for the z50ii are good. Not sure about m43 stuff and how well they are for wildlife. Or get a canon eos r7 and build from there once I get enough to buy a zoom.

Hello and welcome. May I recommend the Sony RX10M4, the best bridge camera in the world, with a 600mm lens

Two thing I can suggest.

If you can get the cameras in hand. Go to a brick and mortar camera store and check them out. Spec don't mean a thing if the camera feels like garbage or doesn't fit your hand.

Look at reviews for both the camera and its performance for the type of photography you want to shoot. You mentioned wildlife. The most important thing there would be the autofocus system. Everything else is secondary to a quick, accurate autofocus.

Also if someone ever gives you a camera recommendation it should also come with a why or ..... they're just a fanboy.

I decided to go with the r50 to save some money and looking for a used zoom lens.

I’m glad I purchased it! Still learning a lot. I got a 55-210mm just to start out.
