Hello folks. Long time lurker, very rare poster. I recently got the opportunity to travel to the Svalbard archipelago in the high Arctic. What a surreal place. Up there for 10 days, think I took about 30gb worth of photos.

What was unexpected was the intricate texture of the landscape. With very little color and little low on the horizon light (sun never even comes close to setting in June), I turned to converting a number of my images to B&W. Thought I'd share a few with everyone here.

All images were taken with my Panasonic G6 and either the 12-35 f2.8 or 45-200 f3.5-5.6 lenses.

First time posting photos here. Any C&C is appreciated as well as other comments. Hope you enjoy them.

2. This crazy bird cliff in Hinlopen strait. Estimated 75-80000 breeding pairs of Guillemots. Each black speck here is a bird

3. Bergy bits. Polar bear tracks across the near ice.

And yes, we saw lots of polar bears. Not happy with how any B&W conversions of them came out, so this one is in color.
