Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Living downtown in Harrisburg, PA gives me access to an island that is called City Island, it's used for the minor league baseball team :)

So here are some of my work, there's very few( two right now until i upload them to flickr) but I'd really like to know what everyone thinks. (I'm super in love!)

Looks like a nice place to get some photos! I would wait for the sun to get just below the trees in that first pic....thinking it would be nice setting!

Oh man, the first photo. It really speaks to me. The crooked horizon stares into the inner blankness of my soul. The specular highlights on the water sing a song of nails down a never ending chalk board, the underexposure of the foreground leads me to wonder, what's in the foreground? Very dynamic, A- overall.

The second one doesn't really tickle my fancy.

Any minute now I expect to see Ashton Kutcher jump out at me.

Ok enough bitchiness. OP, I know your only 18 so I will try and be as gentle as possible. What do you want out of your photography? Do you want us to pat you on the head and say oh its a great picture or do you want harsh c&c, to help you become a better photographer?

1. Your horizon is crooked, you took a vertical shot that should have been horizontal, you need either a ND filter or a CP filter to gut the glare of the water. You should learn to avoid solar flare unless it was intentional for artistic reasons and I don't believe that was the case in this picture. There's just too much technically wrong with it. The surrounds look like you could get some nice shots there. But you shot in full sunlight rather than choosing an appropriate or better time of day. Think dawn/dusk.

2. The framing of this shot is better but its exposure is all over the place. You need to read up on composition and what makes a good photograph. Then pay attention to lighting and the time of day. Harsh sun overhead, mid afternoon generally isn't the best time for landscape or nature shots. Keep practicing. Thicken that skin of yours, stick around and learn. Don't give excuses, accept the critique and take the good when you can. Roll with the punches hon it will get easier.

Thank you everyone for the comments :)

mwcfarms - i dont get your kutcher joke o_O

1. I was shooting with a P&S camera, and I was trying to get the water and sun in, I tried to get a horizontal but it kept cutting off the sun thats why I went vertical. I didnt notice that about the horizon until now thank you :) I'm going to get a tripod so that this doesn't happen often (when that will be....i dont know) I did try for the glare, it came up on my camera and I wanted to see if I would capture it. I think it looks awesome personally. *the glare* I was trying to get the sparkle in the water, becasue every time I shoot water that has the sun on it, I can never quite get it!

Thank you for suggesting a better time of day for me :) I will take this into my mind!!!

2. Oh you should of seen it before I bumped up the contrast!!! It was awful! The exposure was so bad lol! It was my first time shooting with a DSLR and I didn't really understand it at all!

As for the thick skin. I try really hard to have one, I just am pretty sensitive and over emotional, I just take things seriously T_T I need to work on it. But thank you for putting your comments the way you did, I didnt feel attacked and I feel likeI learned something :)!
