Red spider mite, I always find these on plastic surfaces

Beetle on compost container on the allotment. Body size is 4.66 mm, antennae 8.15 mm magnification is 1.4.
I didn't notice the spiders silk (?) when I took it

Springtail from the allotment. The real size is 2.86 mm, magnification is 3.36. It was quite well camflouaged - this is with flash which means it is easier to see.

I don't think a better Canon camera would take much better photos.
Saying that a better one would make it easier to check that I had a good photo on the back and maybe a very expensive one would let me take some photos without flash.

I also use a shooting stick to support myself but all of these were on surfaces so I rested on the surface

Nice set. I would have to look real hard to find such creatures.

Springtails are very easy to find - just leave some wood in your garden and they will be there a few weeks later. This can cause marital problems so be careful.

Red spider mites are quite easy to find on compost containers - but not every week, but you should find them every year on a compost container.
