P.S., I'm sick of the lame weather. I wanna be using this for landscapes, not as a prop!

Nice.

So is that the 16-35mm F/4 VR?

At first I saw that post title and thought it said " A Lenscapper's Dream". lol. Just ribbing you man. It turned out pretty well. It has a rather cold, hard, all-bidnezz look to it with lens and filter and filter holder on it! So is this like 10 really low, low powered flash pops, like 1/64 power ones or something? How many tries did it take to get this? How difficult or easy was it to shoot this? Were you using a small softbox on the flash?

how does that square thing screw into the lens hood ?

. . . . this forum is gonna get spammed til the end of time with his d800 pictures ...

Ten photos, with a umbrella above, small beauty dish to the right, and each exposure had a third flash placed by hand. To get all the contours and such. 8-10 final images. I didn't count. The third flash was unmodified.

Also, it's a push on. You just set the lens on the square mount piece and hit it until it's on.

I don't yet have a good example, but the ability to pull back detail in blown highlights is amazing! I accidentally aggressively over exposed a photo yesterday, and I played with the exposure slider, pulled it back a few stops, and had a crazy amount of detail. The detail in blown highlights and shadows is mind blowing. I can't wait to shoot some HDR's and landscapes with it. Hopefully tomorrow night.

Try light painting it next. See if you can do that in one exposure. I can't yet, but I'll get there dammit. I swear. What? I know, you don't believe me. But I will. I promise this time. No, it's not going to be like all the other... NO, I'M NOT A PANSY. I AM WILLING TO TRY NEW THINGS. UGH. WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN EVERY NIGHT.
