What's new

A Landscapers Dream

Try light painting it next. See if you can do that in one exposure. I can't yet, but I'll get there dammit. I swear. What? I know, you don't believe me. But I will. I promise this time. No, it's not going to be like all the other... NO, I'M NOT A PANSY. I AM WILLING TO TRY NEW THINGS. UGH. WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN EVERY NIGHT.

Hahahahaha. I have faith in you. Go forth and actuate!

I myself have done very little light painting...

that thing is a beast at night. The dynamic range you can get in one frame is pretty awesome. A few of my astrophotographer friends use a D800 and I've been blown away by it

Painting with light sounds like a solid plan. I'm gonna try doing that.

I love light painting. Looks awesome, costs... don't ask me why I spent $80 on a flashlight, OK? There's no good reason. You win.

Haha. But that light painting probably didn't take an hour and a half and 10 photos and layers and all that, right? So you win in terms of ease of shooting [emoji106]

30 seconds, about 5 minutes of editing, but probably 10 attempts to get it juuuust right.

You also could have set up in a dark room, and turned your shutter speed to bulb. Then walk around the camera with a flash and hit different parts of the camera, that way you did not have to layer different pictures together. But very cool picture. I really like it

The Mamiya looks pretty good on that reflective table top surface! Love the reflection in the table!

The landscapers I know dream more about this kind of thing...

I prefer this way. Mostly because I can control the look of the light on each part. If I had done it your way I most likely would have washed out spots and overlapped lighting sections etc.

This is a composite of ten different photos, all lit from different angles. Hope you enjoy!

P.S., I'm sick of the lame weather. I wanna be using this for landscapes, not as a prop!
