Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
First photo was taken a couple years ago with an old model rebel and kit lens. I'd like your thoughts please :)

Heavenly

Second photo was a much more serious attempt at creating a well shot photograph.

Old Barn

Thank you for your time and God Bless.

I couldnt see your pictures when I clicked on the links, maybe its just my computer but I thought id let you know

I like the barn one the best but it would be better if the barn was in focus a little more.

I try to do the same thing as "Heavenly"...I see a neat looking sky and attempt to photograph it. But those powerlines are right there...so what do I do? I try to incorporate it in some fashion. Does it ever work? NO. So, my comment is to find a different position to shoot from or a whole different location and wait for another one of these beautiful skies to happen.

The "Old Barn" one is mis-titled...it should be "Bush in Front of an Old Barn"...the bush is on a "RoT" line and in focus...but the lighting is flat which most likely means the sun was at your back and most likely 70 degrees above you...

If you have a chance to go back...try to make stories out of these photos...it shouldn't make a person looking at it go "That's a bush in front of a barn"...what did that bush and barn make you feel? It must have been something...it drew you to take a photo of it...now the why must be translated to the viewer...

#1 The power lines are really distracting, especially the ones horizontally across the foreground. For the title heavenly the photo comes across as alittle bit too busy. I do like the colours and exposure of the sky.

#2 I really like the colours and how they work with each other but I really want to kick the bush out of the way and get the barn in focus. I just find the bush isnt helping the photo at all. Watch your DOF. The barn seems interesting im wondering if there is a better angle or viewpoint to shoot from.

Thank you all for your input, I do have another view of the barn, it should be much more appealing based on the critiques I've received so far.

Thank you Drex. Next time I'm stateside I might go camp out at that barn for sunrise photos. This photo was shot in the middle of a round of golf with my father but I honestly never would've thought about the flat light from lack of shadows. Also as far as adding emotion that is certainly something I'll keep in mind. Thanks again :)

Nice...I like how the power-lines lead the viewer to the barn...much nicer...usually I would say to level the horizon...in this case the verticals...but the tilt lends itself well, IMHO, to this photo...nice job!
