Interested in what everyone thinks in terms of composition. Thanks.

Technically it's well done, and the selective colour reflection is nice. But I tend to like selective colour used as a focal point for a shop and I don't think the barber's pole is a focal point in this picture. It's nicely done but doesn't, IMO, enhance the shot.

Just my 2p worth.

I agree with above. Well done, but artistically, it doesn't nothing for me, like almost any selective color. I think all in B&W would have been nicer.

Also, side note - No particular reason for this to be in the Beyond the Basics section...

What was the reason for the highish ISO.....sorry i ask as a newbie..

Thanks

Probably because he was already at a 1/20th shutter speed, and still wanted the depth of field, so he couldn't chose a bigger aperture, so the only choice left was more ISO. Also, these days, ISO 400 isn't much.

I agree with everyone above--this is a nice shot, however I think it could be a lot more interesting if it were a main focal point in color. The "Old World Shaving Parlor" text would have been a lot better in color.

Great shot! I like the composition, but selective color still isn't my thing..
