Further to my last post about selling on eBay, I have signed up for accounts with istockphoto.com and 123rf.com.

But reading up it looks to be more trouble than it is worth as I obviously need to declare any income I receive for tax, so I have a few questions.

1. Since I am already employed in a different industry and only selling images as an aside to my hobby, do I really need to declare myself "self-employed"?

2. How does being self employed affect my bills for my home (since it would technically be my place of business)? Do I have to pay business rates for energy/water/waste etc?

3. Do I need to declare to my car insurance company that I am a "company director"? (I'm sure this would push the price up!)

It all seems a bit complicated and I'm having second thoughts if it will be as much hassle as that.

Any advice much appreciated!
