Last weekend, I attended a macro photography workshop in Cleveland. On my drive home, I stopped in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Although I was only there for one morning, there was a lot to see. I visited the Allen County Courthouse, the Lincoln Tower Bank, the Allen County Public Library and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (the oldest church in the city).

Here are some of the images from my short stay:

1- The Lincoln Tower opened in 1930. At that time, this art-deco tower was the tallest building in Indiana.

2- Lincoln Tower must attract quite a few photographers. When I asked permission to photograph the ceiling, without hesitation the employee presented me with a form to sign waiving my rights to sell the images.

3- The Allen County Courthouse wasn't as accommodating. When I asked for permission to shoot the very impressive lobby, I was told that permission was denied for me to even enter the building with a camera!

5- I was surprised by the size of the library. The Great Hall seemed as large as the one in the Denver Public Library. Although it wasn't overly crowded, I did capture several exposures and then blended them to remove as many people from the frame as possible.

6- I appreciated the overcast conditions for photography for all these interiors--especially when shooting the church.

7- The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is the oldest church in the city (1860).

What jerks!!!! Obviously they didn't know how fantastic your architectural images are.

First class as usual. Beautiful church.

Thanks...in their defense, court was in session. It seems that photography is rarely permitted in courthouses when business is being conducted.
Some very good images....
Thank you, Jeff

I was in a courthouse in south Alabama couple of weeks ago, where they made you take off your belt before you walked through the metal detector, forcing you to hold up your pants with one hand. Then as you come through if you're wearing a cap you have to leave it on an unattended table by the door. All because some judge with a god complex set the security and decided he didn't like caps. I understand security, and have no problem going through a security check, but this one was over the top. Bet they would have called out the swat team if you tried to take a camera in there.

A beautifully taken set of images, like them all but the first two are very impressive looking.
