Old Henry has come here to live out her remaining time, she's 10+ years old and full of arthritis.

I've had to bring her inside into the lounge room, she's dying i think. She's stopped walking and when she tries to stand she falls over, her not eating or drinking has gotten worse.

She's been constantly sleeping since yesterday and hasn't eaten or drank since the day before yesterday.

She doesn't seem in pain but i dont know if i should let nature take her, or do i stress her and take her to the vet to be put to sleep?

I got her to eat a heap of food yesterday after those 2 days of not eating. Some days it's like shes gonna pass and other's where she sorta comes good again.

It's a bit confusing with her, but it's 6:30am and shes eaten a good portion of the sweet corn. So that's a win for today.

I've figured out whats going on.

Her old owner never de-mited or de- liceed her, can only remember 1 time he put de-mite & lice spray on his chooks.

Shes over a decade old and i thought they were just old looking feet and legs, there not. She's never been treated for scaly leg mites by him.

A week ago i put liquid ivermectin on her, the print out said 0.5ml per kilo of body weight. She ways 2.2kg so i used 1ml.

Was 3 days after this she went really lethargic and not eating, she came good 2 days after that. Thought it was a coincidence her getting ill like that.

I gave her a 1/2 dose 4 days ago noticed she was lethargic and less hungry yesterday & today is just the same, nope it's the ivermectin doing it to her. She's supposed to have 1 more treatment in a weeks time but nah, im not using this on her again.
