A Nice Sharp Lens For My D800

my 70-200 f/2.8 is a Zoom and still exceedingly sharp. The only lens I've seen sharper is my GF's 300mm f/2.8
my Nikon 50 f/1.4 is rubbish though.

I'll second the 70-200mm idea. And seeing as you already have the Tamron 24-70mm you should get the Tamron 70-200mm.... It's brutally sharp. It's my favourite lens on my D810 closely followed by my Sigma Art 50mm.

Hey dcbear Tamron 70-200 vr is top on my $$$$$ lens list. i was looking for a prime something like a 85, 50. i do have a 35mm 1.8d from nikon i dont know how good or sharp that lens will be on my D800 i have a shoot today i was thinking about using it instead of my Tamron but i love my tamron is super super sharp on my d800. i dont want to risk it lol. i want a prime lens i can relay on right now im always relaying on my tamron.
