Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
So I'm going on vacation to Vail, CO in a couple weeks. I've tried google-ing and searching FlickR for good photo spots, but I just can't find a definitive resource for good, scenic spots.

In my google travels I came across several professional photographers working out of Vail. Would it be in poor taste to shoot these photogs a quick email asking about prospective photo places and must-shoot spots?

I think that would be OK. Especially if you let them know that you've tried to research it yourself and are not just being lazy.

What's the worst that can happen? They don't answer? I don't see why they wouldn't be helpful, it's not like you're going there to steal work from them. Are you?

I know that some photogs have that "secret spot." I just don't want to give them the idea that I'm trying to steal from them on their own turf. That would be bad...:meh:

Shwenty or however you spell his name, I think he's in Colorado and about an hour and a half away from Vail. He might have some location for you.

I don't really think that's an issue. I think they'll either respond with helpful info, or not at all.

mmmk. I will try it.

EDIT:
BTW, I gave you your 100th like. :er:

i happend to go with two professional photographers to europe, and i end up learning useful techniques. i even once told to take their spot when we take a photo of the parliament building in budapest.

Where else are you going? Just Vail?

Probably day trips around the area, but pretty much just Vail. It's a family vacation type thing. IDK where we're stopping to overnight on the way in. Somewhere in Colorado, but not exactly sure.

If you are in Vail, keep going west trough I-70 to Gleenwood springs. Beautiful drive and you will see something and stop. My top favorite in colorado is the Sand Dune national park. I have been there 2X but unfortunately that was back when I wasnt into photography.

If you can't find a good shot in the rockies....just quit.:)) just kidding. Try just looking up travel brochure type stuff or places to see. Then once there, find your own unique vantage point. Why rehash what a whole group of photogs have already shot a thousand times?
