A rose by any other name C & C please

Pre-DSLR .. I wanted to have a symbolic photo when visiting William Shakespeare's home. I tried all different angles and from all different direction. I am an avid gardener and I wanted something special. This micro shot was the best I got. C & C please.

Maybe dodge it a little. It needs to be lighter than the BG.

I like the angle you shot at, as well as the color. Having the detail in the foliage makes a good foundation for the photo. Gardening and hiking both beg photos to be taken!

Nice image, flowers are one of my favourite subjects. This is the kind of shot that calls for a little fill flash, or if you shot it in Raw, then you should be able to dodge the flower a bit as cosmonaut has suggested. Anything to lighten up the flower a bit.
