Here's some photos I took of my kids in the studio tonight at school... I know there are some issues and I will try to mention those that I already know with each photo, but if you notice anything else, please let me know
1. Main issue here is that I cut through "Radio Flyer" and the wheels on the wagon...
2. Main thing I notice here is that the catch lights in his eyes are minimal. I tried to brighten them up a little in post, but a couple other little spots were coming up and he looked really freaky... lol
3. Her face is a little too bright and I'd like to see the blacks a little blacker...
4. His face may be a little bright and the shadow being as dark as it is bugs me a little... Better catch lights in his eyes here though.
I also know that in all of these, the background isn't white. I was only allowed to use one light for this assignment with a shutter speed of 1/25s and aperture of f/8 or f/11. This is what I ended up with as the best of the best
That's all I can think of to throw in here
In all the pictures, the strobe was at camera right. In the one of my daughter, and the one where my son is jumping with his guitar, the bottom of the softbox was about 18" off the ground. Used a large softbox (don't know the actual dimensions, but it was huge!). Strobe was about 18" from subjects as well. In the picture of my son sitting with his guitar and the picture of him in the wagon, the flash was about 7' high and about a foot back from the end of the backdrop...
