In May I got a new desktop computer running Windows7, I use Internet Explorer as my browser. We always used to have AOL as our ISP, which has its own version of IE, but in May we changed to Verizon DSL. When I go online now, I can no longer open more than one window at a time and its very annoying. For instance - If I'm writing an email and I'd like to copy a link into the mail from another site, I can't just minimize the mail window, copy the link from the other site and then enlarge mail again. I have to save the mail because the page closes when I switch to go elsewhere. If I hit minimize, it reduces the entire browser window. If I go to a new site, it opens a new page instead of a new window. I googled to find an answer, but all the instructions tell me to go to a setting within internet options that I don't have. I find the Tab link, but there is no "settings" button to click on, just 3 options to choose from, none of which seems to fit the bill. Under advanced in the "Browsing" section, I don't have the box to clear that says "reuse open window for new pages"....or something to that effect....Anyone know what I have to do to be able to have multiple web pages open at one time? Or is it no longer possible?

Sorry about that - It's IE 11. The computer came with IE 10 and one of the windows updates somewhere along the line upgraded it to 11. The issue was there in IE 10 also.

I don't use IE anymore, but most of the browsers now use tabs, which are essentially separate browsing windows.

If you don't get IE figured out, give Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome a try.

Ctrl + Click will open a link in a new Tab
Shift + Click will open a link in a new Window
Ctrl + T will open a new Tab
Ctrl + N will open a new Window

And ditch IE for Firefox.

Thanks all. I do have Chrome installed, I just never bothered to try it, guess I will have to - thanks.
