A very hard walk!

Well after a serious epic trek to Three Shire Head in the Peak District we found what we were looking for, the waterfall! I'll let the pictures do the talking! Comments, as always, are more than welcome!

A very beautiful part of the country. I like #3; that captures the atmosphere of that area best for me.

I like the look and feel of the first photo; my eye is drawn into the sun-bathed valley.

Love the composition in #4. The HDR in #4 and #5 seems to be suffering from chromatic aberration/over-processing?

Interesting images - I like the first scenic and the waterfalls, but I am curious about what gives with the "chimney" in the last one. I would almost expect there to be something underground to feed the chimney - :sillysmi: .

You know, funnily enough, when I started that thread it was because of the crap I got from another forum! Then it started here too so kind of made my point!

Well, your HDRs are not very good. You get haloing problems, not as bad as some people, but you get them, and about half the time you create incredible visual confusion by crushing the tonal range too far together. The bench is lost against the grass, the various piles of rocks are visually conflated with the backgrounds. This could be deliberate, although I can't imagine why you'd make those choices they are certainly yours to make. I suspect they are not deliberate, and that you haven't really noticed those issues. There seems to be some bizarre color artifacting in the waterfalls, as well. Moving things often give trouble in HDR.

So, technically, these are not the worst HDRs ever but they're not particularly excellent.

As compositions, I think these are mostly fairly weak. Not terrible, but not very strong, either. The tilted horizon in the bench shot is very unsettling. I see that you wanted the bench level, but I think it was a peculiar and unsuccessful choice.

The only one I genuinely like as a composition is #6 in the first post. It's got some interesting elements, pleasingly placed in the frame, it isn't cluttered or excessively busy, and it's not relying on Extremely Dramatic Sky to create visual interest.
