Just as a side note. When posting for C&C, which you may or may not be doing, it is best to do two things. First, number all of your photos. At each photo make any comments you feel appropriate. Two, try to limit your photos to around 3 or so.

Now, I know you did not ask for C&C. Just saying IF you were...

With that said, number 1 is neat. However, having a foreground OOF (Out Of Focus) object is very subjective. Some people like it most do not. Try not to include anything in a photo that does not add to it.

Number two has the same "problem" as 1 with the OOF forground objects. Very nice color and sharp focus on the subject. I personally like the OOF stuff in this one as it adds depth to the photo.

Number 3 is very interesting. The shallow DOF (Depth of Field) with the focus on the stem is nice. Not sure about the window in the background if it is distracting or if the window lines pulls the eyes toward or away from the subject.

Numbers 4, 5, and 6 I like a lot. The colors seem very nice to my untrained eye. I just "like" them, though others may be more critical.

All in all very nicely done! Way better than I have been doing.

Hey thanks! I enjoyed the light today, it was a bit overcast with a storm heading in, oh about 6pm when I headed out. I was a bit hesitant to add them all, though another forum I post on automatically forces you to edit a post down to four. I won't do it again, and thanks again for the tip on that. I will go back and number them, that makes sense, especially if folks pay attention to my posts.

I've been actively photographing for about 2 or three days now, so I take in a bit on theory and practice through various means and apply when I retain. Other than that, I just shoot what and how I like.

Thanks again for the kind words and C&C (comments and critiques?).
