A watched pot...

never boils! So while the carrots were simmering I started taking photographs of random items this afternoon.

The Vase - I like the way the tree looked through the glass.

And finally, my first try at selectively removing colour. I know it was an easy subject, but it was great fun to try.

I like the brocoli shot - but I'm a big fan of the "rule of thirds"

Only criticism I'd make about it is that it should be a touch sharper with more saturated colors in the subject (camera settings and a tripod would probably hit it) and watch the x and y axis of the grid background.

You're right, I should have used a tripod but since I was in the middle of cooking I really couldn't be bothered to set up. I will try it again though. Thanks for the suggestions!
