I'm trying to decide between the Nikon Coolpix P80 or P100.

I'm looking around, and the best price from the P80 I see is $220 (included memory card and case)

For the P100, it's $315 for used (almost like new) and $360 for a new one ... which should I go for?

For $120 increase here are the significant improvements:

- 10.3 MP vs 10.1
- Flip out screen
- Aperture (telephoto) f/5.0 vs f/4.0
- 481 g vs 405 g
- 1080p vs 480p @ 30fps
- 10 fps continuous shooting vs None
Is that worth 120?

Get Sony A230 DSLR on ebay. They are selling for less than $300!

Ok, WOW! new competitor! I think I'm going for this one!

NIKON COOLPIX L110

If your set on a point and shoot camera then the L110 isn't a bad choice. It's a great higher end P&S.

+1

I love my A230, it's a great starter camera. However if you don't need a DSLR, and just want something for day to day use, that is easy, and effective then one of the higher end P&S is a good choice. I would recommend taking a look at some of Panasonic's line up as well.

I have the L110 and love it. It does everything I want right now, but I'll be getting a D90 soon for shooting sports.

The video works well and you can zoom while you're shooting video, but it's a slower zoom than normal.
