I see great possibilities in this shot; the image seems unbalanced because of the total darkness on the right of the image. That is just my personal opinion though. I wonder if you could crop on the cross and windows to make a different image from that main subject.
Again, just my thoughts...

Also I feel there is just too much dead space on the right. A bit of dead space and a slightly unbalanced photo is exciting and a play with light and shadow is always interesting, but here I feel there is too much shadow.

I have to follow the others here ... there is some potential in the idea. and the image transports some mood. But it is quite out of balance composition wise. Nothing is created in my imagination in the empty space, hence it is really empty. Also because it is black, it is still very heavy.
