advice please

Ok so im a noob of course so i'm in need of some advice. I tired walking around the other night around town jus getting use to the D90. I stopped to take a pic of a wall with huge mural but there was a street light next to it. Every pic i took had little dots/speckles from the light. =( How would i go about fixing this?

That was my thought, but it's soooo hard to say without an image.

Sounds like image noise (little dots/speckles) to me, bit without a posted pic we are all guessing.

I bet the camera was in green A mode and had the ISO cranked up.

Turns out, thats what it is!

Use a lens hood, that will help.

Its the beams of light hitting your lens at an odd angle. So either change the angle you are shooting at, or as mentionned, look at getting a lens hood

It's a glare, try changing position or angle while taking the shot.
