Teasel Weed. We have it here, but did you know it was brought by European settlers and is not native to America. It's name came from the use of the dried weed being used to comb or " tease " wool in the early days. I always find it a very photogenic weed. Great photo

Thanks Dean - I didn't know that. I saw some of these up in southern Pennsylvania last month while at Lake Koon and Lake Gordon. There blooms, albeit small, are beautiful but I have never seen one fully bloomed out.

Ours have white blooms. Looks like yours is the pink/magenta.

@Flying Panda Can you tell us a little more about this shot? It has a nice deep DOF, great light and sharpness. Did you use any supplemental lighting or focus stacking?
