Strange Mushroom

There were no other mushrooms on the lawn. Beginning of an alien invasion?

Maybe, but the weather was fine since it appeared. It’s about a foot long on the big axis, btw, and all the mushrooms I’ve seen in this large common grass area have been conventional little dome-shaped ones.
