Alien or Sunflower

We are having some really weird weather in the UK recently so current photography is based in my garden.

A sunflower was just budding and it reminded me of a alien pod.

What ya reckon ????

Interesting shot. Aliean sunflower? We hit almost 102F (39C) today, but this is Texas, so expected, but we've had a lot more rain than usual.

Texas or Sussex its all going the same way. Blistering heat then flooding then heat again.......

Triffids will be blooming soon.
