Allelopathic Asian Invader

Heads up -- if you see one of these kill it. Bush honeysuckle is an invasive species from Asia. It's allelopathic (exudes chemicals that kill other plants). That's why it's common to find large infestations of just this one plant -- any competing plants were poisoned in infancy. The Missouri Dept. of Conservation has released an information pamphlet: Curse of the Bush Honeysuckle -- not for the faint of heart.

Pretty though and it sure does smell nice.
