Allentown House Explosion

I keep getting messages from people asking if Keith and I are okay... so I thought I'd just make a general post...

Yes, we're fine

We live about 20-30 minutes from the boarder of Allentown in the boonies, so we were nowhere near that.

It was, however, a very unfortunate and horrific event.

I just watched a news story about it (4 Dead, 1 Unaccounted For In Fiery Explosion; 8 Homes Destroyed, Dozens Damaged - Regional News - Lehigh Valley Story - WFMZ Allentown), that said a 4 month old was one of the victims that died.

3 are dead, 2 are unaccounted for, and 8 homes were lost.

Keith and I don't believe we know anyone there, although it happened very close to a friend's home, but he lives one street over.

If you believe in such a thing, I just ask that you say a prayer for those that were lost and their families, and that the 2 "unaccounted for" individuals were just not home at the time.



Also, no, I don't have photos of the explosion or fire because I literally just heard that it even happened about an hour ago and the explosion was late last night.

What makes me angry, is the fact that, while it's not *confirmed* yet... it was a suspected Natural Gas leak... and they HAD someone from UGI out there earlier this week looking for a leak but didn't come up with one, so they wrote it off.

Well. Apparently. There probably WAS one. But it took 2 houses exploding and 6 others going up in flames to figure it out.

I just watched the update on the news station right now.

5 deaths are confirmed... 4 have been found, 1 they're still searching for.

a 4 month old boy, a 16 year old girl, and 69 and 70something male and female. They wouldn't release the age or sex of the missing victim.



They're still not confirming whether or not it was in fact a Natural Gas explosion.
