ALWAYS shut the power off.............................

I was working in our film studio today re doing the lighting set up. My friend was supposed to turn the power off but I guess he didnt. I went to plug the lights in. Balancing on a ladder and thinking power is off I accidently put it on backwards and a get a big nice suprise of an insanely loud crack and a blue spark at least 2 feet wide. It singed off all the hair on the top of my hand which started spasming a little.

Can't forget to add it melted the metal plugs a bit.....

so is the moral of the story make sure your friend really turned the power off or make sure you don't do a DOH and plug them in wrong???:greenpbl:

What's funny is the hot pin on the socket is arced and the ground pin on the plug.

Rule one: It's hot unless you've checked it personally.
