Someone posted this on my FB this morning, story of Vivian Maier, an unknown street photographer that was discovered after she died.

Yep, I thought about that too, it's sad that people value an artist only after they die, although this story is a bit different b/c I'm not sure she saw herself as an artist at all, she clearly just loved taking photographs.

I heard about her on reddit a week or so ago. Lucky guy who ended up with like a million of her original negatives.

Makes me want to get more into street (there are other motivations too).

OMG that is awesome but its sad that she didnt get the credit she deserved when she was alive. At least she will be rembered for something so awesome.

Same here. Her photos are amazing! Captures the era she lived in perfectly. Makes me want to go and capture our era.
