Photos NOT OK to edit
These were taken at Brazos Bend State Park south of Houston.

The gators were all over the walking trails. Luckily they are pretty docile and you can walk right next to them and they don't even acknowledge you.

Still pretty intimating standing next to one with out any barriers.

Thanks
Dave

Nice and docile until they decide not to be...I've seen them do that and it's just so dang quick..make you wet yourself quick.

Docile or not, you wouldn't get me within 20 feet of one of those :icon_mrgreen:, in fact I am surprised they would even tolerate your getting close to them.

IMG_3157 , love the contrast and this shot overall

Really nice set! And it looks like a really cool place to visit! :cool-98:

That's a lotta hand-bags on the hoof!!

Really though, shouldn't everything after the word "Alligators" on that sign be superfluous?

They were all over the place. We asked at the nature center if people have been bitten, and they said that no one has ever been bitten by an alligator there. This is from the Brazos Bend SP website FAQ's:

15. Has anyone ever been hurt by an alligator at BBSP?
NO. Thousands of people visit the park every year and there have been no alligator attacks of humans. In fact, there are no substantiated accounts of human fatalities caused by alligators in Texas. Let’s keep it that way.

Thanks for the replies. I hauled my 70-200mm 2.8 all the way out there that day and was very happy that it was a good day for alligators. Some kid referred to it a telescope, I just smiled.
