American bittern in flight

Saw this little guy fly over a marsh yesterday and managed a couple of shots, thinking it was a green heron. Didn't see till I got home and got it on the "big screen" that it was an American bittern, a much more reclusive and hard-to-find bird. I've gotten lots of shots of a bittern foraging, etc., but never gotten a decent one in flight, so this was quite a treat!

Nice shot have yet to see one this year my mom has but i was at school when she saw it for another three hours still waiting to see our first green heron of this year got one egret sighting today and heron sightings for the past two weeks i have been seeing them quite a bit

Very nice! I've never even seen one or a Green Heron for that matter.
