American Kestrel

[wackii]

I went back to that same spot to retake some shots of the American Kestrel. This time I bought the tripod with me. Pictures look better compared with the handheld shots I took last time. C&C welcome!

Nice shots. Looks like it caught a snake in #2 and is chowing down on it in #5. Your next assignment, should you decide to accept it is to get a few BIF (Birds in Flight) images.

It's actually two different Kestrels and two different snakes... #2 looks like a lizard with long teal cuz' I can see the back leg if you zoom in closely and it has a lil pattern on the body. #5 has smoother skin with no pattern.

Edit: I will try the BIF shots but these guys are kinda far away... There's a fence blocking me from entering. I don't know if my D5100 able to focus fast enough, they come in fast.

Just kidding a bit about the BIF shots, but they are the hardest ones to do well (at least from my experience) and the most rewarding. Good luck on getting some.

Nice Kestrel shots! that sky seems a bit overdone though! CPL? Maybe a bit to heavy on the Sat?

I applied between +12 to +18 on Sat. Maybe I should back it off a lil. Thanks.
