An experiment with color contrast

It works for the color contrast, but there is way more green than red.

If you had gotten closer, the flower (your main subject based on it being in focus) would have more scale in the image frame.
IMO, the landscape framing provides way to much negative space and makes the main subject less appealing.
The centered composition also diminishes tension and drama that could add appeal to the photograph.

I recommend a square crop for 2 reasons:
1. The scene has no secondary of tertiary subjects that would support a rectangular rule-of-thirds or golden ratio based composition.
2. A square crop will increase the main subject scale in the photograph yet still have some tension and drama with the flower centered in the image frame.

The flower also looks under exposed, say at least 1/2 a stop.
