hi mike,

its a cute shot, i think if you wanted to you could make this look quite artistic in ps. Here are some quick thoughts:

1. convert ot b&w
2. ultra high contrast
3. add diffuse glow filter

I think if you make the picture look a bit more abstract the shadows would not be so much of a distraction.
