Another Equipment Question

Very true! I'm thinking I'll get the 50mm 1.4 or the 1.8 and a flash. As far as shooting a wedding, I know that at this point, I am nowhere near ready to take that on. I'm going to be working a lot this summer and will gradually guild my gear up. As for experience, I'm going to contact local photographers and see if I could shadow them or maybe even shoot as a backup on a wedding. I think having someone that can help teach me will be greatly beneficial. I've started my research already and the wedding isn't until the end of the summer. I will not do it unless I know that I can handle it.
