Another Newbie (photos included)

Hi all, happy to have found this forum. I'm VERY new to photography, but I'm totally addicted! I purchased my Canon XTi about 1 and a half months ago. I have the terrible kit lens and the inexpensive but wonderful 50mm 1.8. I'm mom to a 9 month old boy...my usual main subject, so I don't get to get out to take photos as much as I'd like. I'm trying to soak it all in, slowly but surely. There is just SO much to learn.

I look forward to posting and reading lots.

No, I added a texture in Photoshop to give it that look. It's a much more interesting photo with the texture!

No, that "micro" was done with my 50mm 1.8. Somea day, if I wish rally really hard, maye I'll get a real macro. Just your everyday PP editing except the flag waver pic,
