Tracking is the space between each letter. If you are using pshop7 (or any version), this option is in character attributes. click on the icon on the very right of the top toolbar or window - character. Some typefaces are deserving of this to make them more "readable" Plus or minus 4 is the general rule. Personally I love breaking rules so be sure to play with it. Leading is the distance between the lines of type.(don't even ask about em and en spaces). Now this is getting a little long winded.
