i like the clean symetry on this one. It is actually hard to find an old church around here without huge old trees crowding into the shot. I'm surprised though by the lack of a steeple.

It's a good shot technically speaking.. the subject to me just isn't interesting though. I do like the B&W processing of it though - you nailed that part.

I hate black skies so so so much. But that's a personal thing.

There seems to be some sort of halo on the edge of the roof, left side. Is that sharpening, or just some optical illusion?

Is this thing even a church? It looks kind of like one, and the apocalyptic sky suggests a religious tone, or at least supports and encourages it. I don't see any explicit symbols that say "church" to me, though. The sky seems to ne dominating the austerity of the church. I think if you lightened the church a bit more it might compete better with the Very. Dramatic. Sky. you have here. The edge burn on the bottom feels heavy-handed to me. It's a good idea, and probably necessary to hold the damn thing down, but a lighter touch and an better job of blending, please.

You nailed it, deeky. I like it but I knew there was something missing and it was bothering me. With a steeple, I love it. As it is, I do like it and I like the symmetry.

It's a small town Baptist church...most don't have steeples. Big ones, yes. Any sized Methodist, yes...Holy Tabernackle Reformed Espicopalian-Methodist..perhaps.

Given the number around these parts which could easily pass as this one's twin, I suspect there was a crafty church salesman a few years back...anyway, you get the picture.
