Antique sheffield m.o.p.handled plated fork

brought this fork at a flea market in u/k.its either electro plated or silver plated.M.O.P. handle and made by DANIEL&ARTER which I think makes it 19th century just can not figure out what it would be used for.so far my research is heading to it being some sort of fruit dipping fork.Has anyone out there got any ideas ,would be greatfull for some help on identifying it.thanks

Of all the sites you might post this picture, I would think a photography site which is oriented towards the critique of member's actual photo work would be way down the list.

Many of these would seem to me to be better.
