Any idea how he does this?

I have recently been inspired by a photographer by the name of Paul Areso. Most of his images are edited and/or multiple exposures brought together.

I was wondering if anyone has an idea of how he does his high contrast/cartoonish looking images used in his portfolio here,

I know most of it is lighting but there has to be something he is doing in photoshop or on camera.

Any insights would be great!
