any ideas on how to market

I need some help . I was a contracted photographer for a few years , and now I'm on my own . I just bought a web domain , and a now looking to set it up and let others know I am out there . How do I market my photos ? Does it pay to use online advertizing ? What's worked ? I am overwhelmed and could use any help I can get . Much love ... Kianna:banghead:
