I recently bought a Tamron 90 macro lens and I have instantly realised that macro is harder than I thought! I would love to get a book that is specifically focuses on macro and also using macro lenses. I couldn't really find that much information on the internet, as most is more about how you can get decent macro with a normal lens.
Any suggestions on books?
I saw on Amazon that Digital Macro Photography by Ross Hoddinot had pretty good reviews, or Close-Up and Macro Photography by Adrian Davies.

I dont know of any books but with macro you either need a flash or a tripod for sure. If you are handholding at 1:1 you will definitley need to use some sort of flash. Handholding with out a flash you will most likely be in the 1/10th to 1/60th of a second and unless you have outstanding technique you will have blurred photos. Tripods are great but are time consuming to set up especially for insects (unless they are asleep). Check out macro its a good read. Most of my shots are handheld and using a flash with a lumiquest soft box attached. Hope this helps!

Thanks Hardrock :) A flash is the next thing on my to get list.
